Questions

How does Daysafe know which country I'm in?

It uses your phone's location when you move a long way or arrive somewhere, plus time-zone changes (and on Android, the mobile network's country). The country is worked out on the phone from a built-in map of borders, so your location never leaves the device.

Why does a day say "needs checking"?

The phone didn't record a location that day and the countries before and after differ. Tap Fix on the Today screen and choose where you were. Until then Daysafe counts the day the cautious way, so a limit is never reported as safer than it is.

Why should I allow location "Always"?

So days are counted even when the app is closed. Daysafe only checks when you travel a long way or arrive somewhere, which keeps battery use low. With "While using the app", it only counts days when you open it, and the evening check-in reminds you to confirm.

Which rules are included?

Schengen 90/180; 183 days in a country by its tax year (for example the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa tax years); the UK automatic test counted in midnights; the US Substantial Presence Test; and UAE tax residency (183 or 90 days). Each rule shows exactly how it is counted.

What does Daysafe Pro add?

The free version tracks every day, keeps your full history and map, and follows one rule and one planned trip. Pro follows every rule at once, plans unlimited trips and exports a spreadsheet of your days for an accountant.

How do I cancel or restore Pro?

On iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Daysafe. On Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. To restore a purchase on a new phone, open Daysafe > Settings > Restore purchases. The free trial includes a reminder two days before it ends.

Will I lose my days if I change phones?

Your days are part of your normal phone backup (iCloud or computer backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android). Restore the backup on the new phone and they come back.

Is this tax or legal advice?

No. Daysafe counts days. Residency also depends on things it can't see, such as your home, family and income. Check important decisions with a professional.
